ABOUT KHSHL

MISSION

The Kentucky High School Hockey League (KHSHL) exists to promote competitive, safe, and sportsmanlike high school hockey across Kentucky and surrounding states. We are committed to developing student-athletes who display character, teamwork, leadership, and academic responsibility — both on and off the ice.

HISTORY

Founded in 2001, the Kentucky High School Hockey League has grown from a small group of dedicated teams into a multi-state competitive league serving student-athletes from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

Over the last two decades, KHSHL has:

  •  Expanded league membership and increased the number of varsity teams

  •  Developed long-standing rivalries and annual championship traditions

  •  Supported hundreds of athletes who progressed to collegiate and junior-level hockey

  •  Built a reputation as one of the most organized and competitive high school leagues in the region

For the 2025–2026 season, KHSHL features seven varsity-level programs competing for the state championship.
