Kentucky HS Hockey League

The Kentucky High School Hockey League welcomes high school teams and high school club teams from the Commonwealth as well as surrounding states. Teams are typically comprised of mixed skill levels -- ranging from AAA to B level skaters. We encourage our teams to utilize the USA Hockey American Development Model, and we support all participants to grow in the great game of hockey!

Ages

All players must be enrolled in a high school, and all players must be at least a ninth grader when the season starts.

When

Our league season typically starts in September and concludes with the KHSHL State Tournament in early March.

Where

On-ice practices are held at each respective team's home rink, and the location of off-ice practices are at the discretion of the individual team and its respective organization.

Practices

Typically, most teams practice on-ice 2 to 3 times per week. Please consult your team's coach for specific practice inquiries.

Games

Teams in our league will play at least 12 league games throughout the season (i.e. a team will play each team in the league twice). Teams may also schedule additional games against league members, non-league opponents, or tournaments.

Jerseys and Apparel

Jerseys and other apparel are ordered at the discretion of the individual team.

Welcome Coaches! Please register your team for the 2025-26 season. Please make sure you spell your full team name and mascot correctly (e.g. Lexington Thoroughbreds). Also, please make sure your head coach contact information and your team manager contact information is correct.
